Looking for a location to do your engagement photos in the winter can be tricky! With most plants being dead and trees bare, many locations can look dull and unexciting. But I got ‘yo back! We took this private field and turned it into a beautiful setting for this winter engagement session in Winston-Salem, NC.
How does using private land for a photo session work? It’s super easy! I know multiple places that are privately owned and love to rent out their land to photographers! Using private land is super beneficial because typically, we get the whole place to ourselves and don’t have to worry about people in the background. You also don’t have to worry about trespassing and/or getting kicked out of a space we aren’t supposed to be using.
We all know it’s a struggle to figure out what to wear on a normal day.. but add in cold weather and photos!? Now that’s a hard one. Needless to say, we will likely be chilly in order to look cute haha! Don’t worry though, we typically warm up quickly too, by doing a lot of action based shots.
I recommend not bundling up too much. You don’t want your movements to be stiff or feel bulky from too many thick layers. Cute boots, a staple jacket, a cozy sweater, and the list goes on with possibilities to keep you warm and photo ready! For more tips, check out my post all on picking out your outfits!
