What a wondrous season it is to welcome fresh life into our world. And it is one of my favorite parts of life to photograph: parents cuddling and looking over their newborns. Photographing every little detail of this new person in extra mini size. From their little button nose to their itsy bitsy toes, I want to capture it all and preserve these moments forever. In these Winston-Salem Summer Newborn Portraits you can see how precious these moments are for these new parents.
The secret to making any home work for lifestyle newborn portraits? Scheduling your session around one room! My biggest tip is to focus on one main room and pay attention to when the nursery or focal room gets the most light. I always try to schedule newborn sessions during those times. This Winston-Salem summer newborn portraits session is proof you don’t need a large spacious room or floods of natural light to get stunning photos. With attention to detail, we worked within the available light.
This family’s wardrobe also played a large part in the feel of their photos. When baby Fallows wasn’t swaddled, she donned a precious lightweight beige romper and blush pink bow. Neutrals are such a great way to keep a soft and romantic color scheme that will stand the test of time. The light colors even helped with the limited light, in brightening the photos rather than adding darkness. Darker colors would give a more dramatic and moody appearance.
Hopefully this session will give you confidence and ideas on how your own in home newborn session can unfold.
