As a North Carolina wedding photographer, I know that North Carolina is home to many beautiful venues all across the state. To narrow down the options, I’ve listed my top 5 North Carolina wedding venues, along with what I love about each. My hope is that this will help you in deciding which venue is right for you, and also give you some insight on each venue from the perspective of a wedding photographer!
The Parker Mill venue in Whittier, NC is an industrial mountain venue with a private mountain top viewpoint for photos. Need I say more!? This venue offers large spacious getting ready spaces for both sides of the wedding party. It also boasts a beautiful cocktail hour and outdoor space with views of the mountains and forest. The reception hall is stunning as well with french window garage style doors that open up to the mountain views and tons of beautiful wood. The venue also drives you up to a breathtaking private viewpoint on top of the mountain for your newlywed photos! Nestled on top of the mountains, you can’t get better views or backdrops for your wedding day then at The Ridge in Marshall, NC. You get rolling hills and stunning mountain views. Guests are brought straight to the ceremony site on arrival and then transported down to the cocktail hour and reception space, which is just a short two minute ride. This venue feels almost like a bright castle without all of the dark and moody colors. The outdoor cocktail hour space is amazing, with access to the bar that is connected to the indoor space as well. It also offers a large, spacious feeling reception space. It feels luxurious and cozy at the same time. When it comes to The Ridge, there are so many possibilities for decorating! You can even take a little virtual tour of the space here!
The Cadillac Service Garage in Greensboro, NC is perfect for all the urban, downtown vibes. It also looks great with unique themes, decor, boho florals, and modern vibes. This venue was literally converted from a Cadillac service garage into a stunning wedding and event space. There are so many gorgeous touches that the owners have put into this place. It has tons of brick walls and decorative accents.
The space also has large, gorgeous spaces for both wedding parties to get ready in as well as multiple ceremony location spots. You can get married in the front “lobby”, the massive space where the reception also takes place, the intimate patio space attached to the side, or outside in the urban courtyard. You can’t go wrong with any of these spaces. While the reception space is being flipped and your wedding party is taking photos, guests are ushered upstairs to a bar and cocktail space overlooking the rest of the venue. The Bradford venue is just outside of Raleigh, NC. When you arrive at The Bradford, you feel as if you’ve been taken to the countryside somewhere in Europe. It has a very classic yet modern vibe with a European feel. There really isn’t a similar North Carolina wedding venue. They also have many spaces, well lit getting ready rooms for both wedding parties, a gorgeous courtyard with string lights overlooking a lawn (both perfect for ceremonies), a cocktail hall/indoor ceremony location, and a beautiful reception hall. This venue sits on twelve acres, and is so beautiful. You just have to see this venue in person to fully soak in how beautiful it is. It’s clean and modern, but with classic vibes. There is a space for everything here!
If you’re a Nicholas Sparks fan, Amelia Grove in New Bern, NC is definitely the place for you! The property overlooks the sound so you get views of water and the sounds of the ocean without the sand. And those marshy trees are so dreamy! The indoor getting ready spaces aren’t as modern and spacious as the other venues, but they do give a very dreamy and traditional feel. It’s such a calming and romantic space for a wedding. To top it all off, the sun sets in the perfect spot over the water and watching the sun go down makes the property glow.
