The McAlister-Leftwich House couldn’t be a more perfect location for Karley and Ethan’s super dreamy wedding day. Located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, this historical home has been turned into a cozy yet luxurious wedding venue. It is the perfect combination of traditional character and modern touches, such as the pure white walls and dark wood floors. If a dreamy vibe is what you want for your wedding day, this romantic McAlister-Leftwich House wedding is a must see.
Karley chose a soft color palette allowing the details and design elements to speak for themselves. Her bouquet was full and fluffy featuring blush pinks, white florals, and gentle greens. And the bridesmaids’ bouquets were tastefully sans flowers. (Be sure to take a peak at those fluffy little greenery bouquets!) The simplicity fit in flawlessly with the venue.
The reception decor matched in its simple and romantic touches. Keeping with the dreamy vibe of their day, tables were decorated with candles and eucalyptus runners. Imagine a white space glowing with love! They even had the cutest cookies for dessert, including their layered cookie cake.
In addition to all of these details, it was Karley’s bridal look that tied it all together. Her wedding dress was a beautiful flowy a-line gown. She looked like a modern day princess with the off-the-shoulder sleeves and sweetheart neckline. Now, her hair was another dream worthy touch to her ensemble. Her beautiful updo featured a beautiful braid and romantic wispy pieces to frame her face. It was the absolute perfect touch to complete her romantic vision.
Leading up to their wedding day, the forecast had been calling for a rainy day. We were prepared to handle the rain with grace but luckily it held off for most of the day! And we definitely took full advantage of the outdoors.
The girls had the full second floor to get ready which made having clean spaces for photos a breeze! I always recommend to my couples to have all clutter in one designated space when I arrive. This keeps the mess out of your photos and allows for cleaner getting ready photos. I mean, look at how beautiful this getting ready space is! Simple with warm neutral colors and pops of blush. Since the girls had their own floor, the guys got the upstairs attic turned bachelor pad. They got to relax in comfortable chairs, play pool or mini golf, and converse without all the hustle and bustle of the day.
Before Karley and Ethan got to hold hands before the ceremony, Karley had an emotional first look with her dad. His joy and happiness in seeing his daughter on her wedding day was so clear and touching. There were definitely tears shed. As for Karley and Ethan, they wanted to keep their first look for walking down the aisle. So, we snuck them around the house for their first touch. It was so sweet, neither of them could stop smiling as they held hands without seeing each other.
The last thing both the bridesmaids and groomsmen did before the ceremony, was pray over Karley and Ethan.
