The Outer Banks has definitely made a name for itself with its rich history, historical lighthouses, and so many things to do. Not only is it a classic beach destination, but it’s also full of sight seeing, educational opportunities, aaaand gorgeous weddings! Imagine a perfect beach vacation day, great weather, and a beautiful sky. That was Aleigha and Nathan’s wedding day. They had both of their families come down to celebrate their Outer Banks Elopement at the Westside Inn. Did I mention they brought their golden doodles too!?
Located on Roanoke Island, the Westside Inn is a beautiful waterfront home turned inn and event venue. The perfect location for any celebration as small as an intimate elopement or as big as a large wedding. The secluded, waterfront property allowed for Aleigha and Nathan to have a stress free wedding day. They got to stay at the inn days leading up to their elopement. Meaning they got to set up and break down at their leisure. How dreamy and relaxing does that sound?
Driving up to the house showed me the beautiful and secluded scenery that surrounded the Inn. There were no other buildings in sight. When I arrived, their families instantly welcomed me in. That is something I always love about intimate ceremonies and celebrations! Facing the ocean, Aleigha and Nathan got married under the beautiful trees with only their immediate families present. It was perfectly quaint and intimate. And as soon as their nuptials were complete, they let their adorable and crazy pups loose to join in on the celebration.
With such a small guest count, they opted for an intimate dinner rather than a full reception. They decorated the quintessential beachy sunroom with greens and blues to share their dinner. The food from Kelly’s Outer Banks Catering was exquisite. Of course, lots of laughter and tears were shared over dinner. For dessert, the cake was absolutely adorable! It was just as delicious as it looked, covered in lemons and blueberries inside and out.
Aleigha and Nathan had their first dance overlooking the private beach, with their pups running and playing around them. After dancing, we went straight down to the water for newlywed photos! We had such a fun time running around and twirling in the sand. You can easily see their joy and chemistry in the photos below.
They spent the rest of the night relaxing and enjoying the company of their family.
