Katie and Cassie are such beautiful souls and I am so honored that I got to photograph their intimate and cozy winter elopement! Their ceremony and short reception were held at Bakery 1818, a historical venue near Winston-Salem and Greensboro North Carolina. They had the perfect venue, the perfect flowers, their dream wedding attire, and most importantly each other. These two are truly best friends who are so excited to spend the rest of their lives together. And with all of their pups too!
For their elopement, they chose emerald and gold for their colors. I love that these colors meant something to them, and how they used them throughout their day. Katie wore a super awesome emerald green velvet bow tie while Cassandra had her nails done in emerald. Such classy and impactful touches! They also both wore gold, jeweled hair accessories to add the finishing touches. Katie wore a stylish black tux while Cassandra chose a gorgeous and elegant gown. It featured long, sleek sleeves and a low back with a big bow.
Besides the two of them, they had only a few of their closest friends and family present. They got married in front of Bakery 1818’s brick wall, decorated in sheer drapes and fairy lights. It was perfectly intimate and cozy. You’ll have to see for yourself how romantic the space was! During the ceremony, they exchanged roses to signify their love for each other. Afterwards, we went outside to take all the portraits our hearts desired. Passerby’s threw out compliments to the newlyweds left and right. It was so rewarding to watch them light up by these strangers’ words.
Katie and Cassie didn’t need the whole reception experience, but they did want to do a few of the traditions. Inside, they cozied up to cut their cake and have their first dance. After they enjoyed sharing these moments, everyone headed back outside for an intimate sparkler send-off.
