It feels like not long ago that I photographed this little family in the hospital when baby June was born. Lauren and Nick asked me to take June’s Fresh 48 photos and a little over a year later they came back for family photos! I was absolutely thrilled to take their Summerfield Farms family session!
It didn’t take long for Lauren to know where she wanted to do their session. After seeing Summerfield Farms’ famous tree, Lauren reached out to them and snagged a spot for their session. Summerfield Farms is a gorgeous and popular venue for weddings in the Triad area of North Carolina. Not only do they host beautiful southern and modern weddings, they also have a meat and grocery market, host community events, and rent out the land for photography sessions. They have lots and lots of space for not only a couple sessions going on at once, but also 2 weddings happening on the same day!
When Lauren and her family arrived, I instantly fell in love with their outfits. I absolutely love the mustard yellow, burgundy, and forrest green colors. Talk about early fall wardrobe goals! Lauren told me she based all of their outfits off her hat. I have to agree that it was a great decision. When it got to taking photos, we had a lot of fun playing with June and keeping her smiling! With most sessions involving toddlers, I let the little one run the show. I find following what they want to do to be the best way to keep them in good spirits. I’m sure most parents can relate! Playing, snacks, and letting them explore with gentle coaxing is my secret sauce to getting smiles throughout the session.
