That’s right, my husband and I are expecting our first baby in March (2022)!!! Although it isn’t a surprise to my followers, friends, or family, this is the first I am mentioning it on my website. And what better way than with the photos that we used to publicly announce back in September? So here are our baby announcement photos! (That we took ourselves!)
As happy and exciting as this new life adventure may be, you may wonder how this effects KLP. Of course, it is impacting me and my work flow tremendously, but the impact on my clients will be minimal. The biggest part will be my maternity leave through May 2022. Due to how physically demanding weddings are, I photographed my last wedding pre-baby in December 2021 and will resume mid to late May depending on when this baby actually arrives! However, I have all of my weddings and couples that were already booked covered during this time period with amazing associate shooters.
This also means sessions will resume booking at the end of April/beginning of May when I can see how I am feeling after giving birth and having a fresh little squishy babe to take care of.
Obviously, as a photographer, I am aaalll about getting professional photos done!! I absolutely love it, but actually being pregnant has made me really want to simplify everything. Not because I’m seeking a simpler lifestyle, but because I am just so worn out! I also had this super cute vision in my head using the egg chair and plants we already had in our bedroom. And the idea was born!
Every Christmas, I set up my camera on a tripod to get cute photos of us in our living room, so I was already familiar with getting photos of us myself. Which is exactly what we did for these, grabbed my tripod, camera, and trigger remote and snapped away. I will say, at this point I was already having to wear these jeans unbuttoned. And they were still uncomfortable.
Oh, and you of course can’t ever take photos with a pup without bloopers!
