Samantha and Sara reached out to me last summer for their mountain maternity session. They were looking for an adventurous photographer as well as someone who is LGBTQ+ friendly. Of course, this is right up my alley so we immediately started talking about locations with easy hikes. We settled on this gorgeous place along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Boone. Sara grew up in Boone so the area also held sentimental value. Keep reading to learn more about their Boone maternity session in the mountains!
When planning a session the mountains, there’s a lot to consider! In this case, we wanted a super easy hike for the soon-to-be Mama. The one we found was only 15 minutes to the views! Samantha and Sara even went to scope out the trail and views the day before their session. On the day of their shoot, Samantha arrived in comfortable clothes to hike in. I strongly recommend this for you expecting Mama’s! She then changed into her gorgeous dresses, which she got from Amazon, at the top.
Are you ready for a surprise at the end? Because they also brought pink smoke bombs! Samantha loved the idea of doing some photos in a black lace dress with the pink smoke rolling in around them. Well, we made it happen! Even though some thick clouds came rolling in and engulfed us in heavy fog. You couldn’t even see the mountains through the clouds! This made us work quickly so we could head back down the mountain before it got too dark.
