Ashton and Dyllan are such an outgoing and playful couple! These two had the most upbeat, classic fall wedding at Greensboro’s Revolution Mill. This historical venue used to be an old factory mill just outside of downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. It is now home to many businesses, apartments, and this beautiful wedding venue.
The day was bursting with love and laughter from the moment Ashton and Dyllan walked down the aisle. It didn’t end until long after their Sparkler Exit. This wedding is exactly what comes to mind when I think of the quintessential fall wedding day. Ashton has the perfect blend of classic and modern taste, and I was thrilled to capture this day for her!
Ashton and Dyllan’s love story is like one you see in movies. The two met outside of a friend’s dorm while they were at NC State. He then tried a pick-up line to grab her attention and she just laughed and rolled her eyes. To Ashton’s surprise she found they were meeting up with the same group of friends! Small world, right? Best of all, Ashton’s friend Laura was planning on setting her up with Dyllan because she thought she may like him. She’s got good intuition!
Fast forward five years, three apartments, and two bachelor’s degrees, and a home purchase, I think Ashton did a little more than just liking Dyllan. Ashton said that she knew in the hallways of her dorm just two weeks after they met that he was the one for her. The two spent every day together and she knew she loved everything about him and wanted to be with him together.
Ashton and Dyllan’s details were to die for. They were absolutely dreamy and perfect for fall. Andraya (owner of FLORA) did a fantastic job with their bouquets, boutonnières, centerpieces, and the ceremony florals. She perfectly mixed soft and bold flowers together for this classic meets modern wedding.
Ashton had a sweet first look with her dad that made us all a little misty-eyed. She looked stunning in her silk, silhouette gown. As she walked toward her dad it radiated the light from the window in front of them. After she made it to him and grabbed his hand, he was overjoyed and happily hyped her up! He is also a huge fan of button details and was thrilled to see them on Ashton’s dress.
The ceremony at the historic Revolution Mill was one for the books. These two are so adorable together and their love radiates for each other. As Ashton walked down the stone path to FINALLY see Dyllan they both had the most adorable reactions. From their entrance, to their vows, to the first kiss as newlyweds, these two wore their joy on their faces. Their expressions say it all!
Dyllan’s family is from South Africa. Due to COVID, many of them could not attend the wedding. Their friends and family from afar coordinated a video of well wishes and messages for the newlyweds that were shown during the reception. A sweet gift they can cherish forever!
The whole wedding party was in celebration mode! It was as if they had to party for the family and friends unable to attend the celebration as well. Ashton and her dad’s first dance to Old Town Road quickly turned into a dance party that kept going long after the song ended.
We slipped out quickly for some golden hour portraits before these two got too caught up in the party. I love taking the time for these romantic golden hour photos. They’re so quick, and so worth it! Everyone’s busy partying already, so you get a little extra privacy and the lighting is so romantic. Things got just a *little* steamy under that cathedral veil. And, nothing says 90’s babe like a girl who can rock a silk gown AND a custom embroidered jean jacket.
The couple definitely knew what they were doing when they picked their DJ. He kept the party alive all evening! Everyone was celebrating and having an amazing time. Ashton even dreamily sang to Dyllan in front of everyone. Talk about swooooon!
